Job Summary

The CenturyLink Senior Accountant in OPEX Non-Headcount Expense Accounting is responsible for general ledger entries, variances and reconciliations for assigned accounts mainly associated with USF and other Direct taxes.Job Description

• 
  
• Produce timely and accurate accounting for assigned accounts including booking entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and providing variance explanations associated with Direct Taxes
• Liaison with FP&A to research issues and help explain variances associated with Federal USF, State USF, and other Direct taxes
• Prepare adhoc reporting to assist managers with questions and analyze accounts
• Work directly with KPMG and SOX teams to explain reconciliation processes
• Perform month end close activities for assigned accounts (record general ledger entries, provide variance analysis, and reconcile balance sheet accounts)
• Actively participate in discussions with management of all levels

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Four or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task by working in a face paced, constantly changing environment
  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability and willingness to meet deadlines imposed by monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles
  • Strong spreadsheet and PC skills (Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as necessary
