KNOE-TV 8 News is an award-winning television station and news
organization located in Monroe, Louisiana, covering northeast
Louisiana, Union and Ashley Counties in Arkansas, and Warren and
Adams Counties in Mississippi. KNOE-TV is owned by Atlanta-based
Gray Television and is a sister station to ABC affiliate KAQY. Our
offices and studios are located on Oliver Road in Monroe, and our
transmitter is located in the town of Columbia in Caldwell, Parish.

Job Summary/Description:
The News Anchor/Producer will be responsible for providing relevant
information for KAQY in a manner that allows viewers to actively
engage with the talent. The anchor gathers the necessary materials
to tell truthful, timely and relevant stories on a variety of
platforms in support of the station brand and delivers those
stories to the viewer in a clear and concise manner. The
anchor/producer is responsible for producing KAQY's 5:30 p.m. and
10 p.m. newscast and anchoring both programs from our innovative
studio.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Anchors various station newscasts as assigned
* Produces various station newscasts as assigned
* Is an informed local, national and world news consumer, who
enterprises original news content with the expectation of relevant
story ideas presented daily
* Is a creative storyteller who strives to present stories in a
truthful and unique manner. He/she utilizes the best video and
sound; writes concise stories in active voice; and edits for
clarity, creativity and professionalism while being committed to
the accuracy of the finished product
* Seeks opportunities and sources to follow-up on major stories and
events previously reported
* Presents a professional image on-air, in voice, presentation and
physical appearance, abides by all station dress code policies and
procedures
* Maintains professional grooming standards and accepts parameters
outlined by station management
* Takes extra care to make sure all written and edited materials
are accurate, fair, concise and supportive of the station brand.
He/she makes every effort to minimize grammatical errors in any
copy aired or posted to the station website and social media
portals
Qualifications/Requirements:
* The successful candidate will be creative, extremely
detail-oriented, and have very strong problem-solving,
multi-tasking, and communication skills
* Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic
environment under deadline pressure
* Able to work well with a team
* Computer literacy is a must
* Strong grasp of visual design, grammar, and spelling
* Experience with ENPS, Edius a plus
* Four-year college degree in broadcast journalism or related
field
* One to five years experience as an
anchor/reporter/photographer/or MMJ in a professional broadcast
news environment
* Professional on-air appearance and pleasing voice quality
* Basic PC skills/photography skills/non-linear editing
skills/writing & editorial skills
* Ability to carry required ENG equipment
* Valid driver's license with good driving record
