ANGUS Chemical has an opening for a Project Manager.-- - This is a permanent opportunity to work for an established chemical company in North Louisiana.-- - -- -ANGUS is growing and looking for a Project Manager that wants to be part of a progressive chemical company that is growing and looking to add to their team. -- - SUMMARY Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project management job functions, primarily specializing in chemical process engineering related tasks such as equipment design, chemical process performance evaluations, material and energy balances, economic evaluations, and capital improvement project management by performing the following duties personally or through other ANGUS Sterlington or contract personnel. -- - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-- - Perform preliminary engineering work in preparation of capital projects, which would include process evaluations, equipment design, capital and product cost estimates, economic evaluations, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, report writing, and schedule preparation. -- -Execute assigned capital projects, from inception through start-up.-- - -- - Responsibilities for approved projects would include procurement, expediting, management of detailed engineering, schedule management, cost control, generation and control of project documents such as design drawings, specifications, and procedures, construction management, liaison and coordination, communications with all personnel involved in the project execution, project documentation, compliance with regulatory requirements, permits, project startup and troubleshooting.-- - -- - Responsible for overall execution of small to large sized capital projects. -- - Process engineering assignments would include execution of assigned process studies, including problem evaluation and investigation, assimilation of data, evaluation of operational performance, troubleshooting of processes and equipment, and evaluation of equipment failures and process incidents. -- - Contribute personally in efforts to reduce costs and improve yields, throughput, and product quality.-- - -- - Provide direct technical support to ANGUS Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory, and other Sterlington Departments through the exercise of process engineering, waste minimization, metallurgy evaluation, equipment design, and other chemical engineering skills. -- - Report to the Engineering Manager, and primarily maintain project engineering job assignments with some responsibilities for process engineering assignments. -- - Prepares interim and completion project reports.-- - Assures completion of final project documentation. -- - Understands and complies with ANGUS EH&S Procedures, OSHA PSM Regulations and Project Engineering Procedures.-- - Participates in EH&S work processes to help achieve EH&S goals. -- - Must be aware of the ANGUS Quality Policy and the elements that make up the Quality System and is responsible for the quality of his/her own work. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but the employee must be able to lead project teams. -- -Job Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:-- - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: -- - EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.-- - Basic working knowledge of chemistry, physics, mass transfer, heat and material balance, fluid dynamics, and engineering economics.-- - Previous chemical plant project engineering experience required, preferably with at least ten years total related experience.-- - Must possess good interpersonal skills, with a special emphasis on teamwork and team building.-- - Personal skills required are good verbal and written communication skills, mature interpersonal relationship skills, organizational and planning skills, and proven leadership ability.-- - -- - LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.-- - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.-- - Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. -- - REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. -- - PHYSICAL DEMANDS:-- - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
