Job Description Required Education • BS Degree in Pharmacy or
Pharm.D. degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy • Current
license to practice pharmacy in good standing Preferred
License/Certification • Immunization certification or willingness
to become immunization certified Required
Qualifications/Skills/Experience • 1 to 3 years of pharmacist
experience • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience • At least two (2) years
of long-term care experience • Excellent organizational and time
management skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent
verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work
independently to plan, develop, and coordinate pharmacy activities
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex topics using
reasoning abilities to apply advanced mathematical concepts and
draw valid conclusions • Knowledge of the American Society of
Consultant Pharmacist guidelines for practice, state and federal
regulations, and drug indicators for long-term care centers •
Knowledge of all government regulations impacting pharmacy
Pharmacist - Dispensing Overview • As a pharmacist for a Long-Term
Care Pharmacy, you will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced
environment to support pharmacy management’s goals and ensure
optimal patient outcomes. • Your role will involve providing
routine and emergency comprehensive drug screening, information,
processing, and dispensing services through various drug
distribution systems. • A strong work ethic and commitment to
service are essential to ensure that patients receive appropriate
drug products efficiently and safely. • You will be a vital member
of the pharmacy team, contributing to a culture of continuous
improvement, service excellence, and operational efficiency. • The
ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and the
ability to manage workflow priorities effectively. • Your
performance in this role will help position the organization as a
leader in the long-term care pharmacy sector. Job Duties • Execute
day-to-day operations in the pharmacy, including workflow,
production quotas, and deadlines • Ensure compliance with local,
state, and federal regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy •
Maintain compliance with DEA policies and procedures, third-party
payor rules, SOX regulations, USP 797/795, and internal SOPs •
Understand and follow all internal policy and procedure manuals •
Supervise production staff to ensure timely order entry, workflow
adherence, and delivery schedules • Verify the completeness and
accuracy of new and refill orders, packaging, and labeling •
Conduct prospective drug utilization reviews for appropriateness,
allergies, interactions, and other risks • Stay informed on
medication storage, stability, and administration requirements •
Supervise and/or prepare sterile IV drug products and maintain
related documentation • Assist in handling, documentation, and
inventory of controlled substances • Maintain emergency kits,
including ekits and Omnicell • Provide coverage during on-call
rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays • Clear the
workflow grid daily • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other
government regulations • Communicate ongoing issues to Pharmacy
Management • Perform drug recall surveillance and medication
occurrence reporting • Other duties as assigned (may vary by
location) Physical Demands: • May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk
intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten
(10) hours per day. It may be necessary to work extended hours as
needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. •
May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. •
Visual acuity to see and read fine print. Specific vision abilities
required by this role include close vision, color vision, and the
ability to adjust focus. • Must be able to hear normal voice
