Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: /t 1. State Licensure
required if in Louisiana /t 2. BLS required Requires one of the
following: /t 1. Sonography (S) by ARRT /t 2. Vascular Sonography
(VS) by ARRT (preferred) /t 3. Breast Sonography (BS) by ARRT
(preferred) /t 4. Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS /t 5. Breast (BR) RDMS
by ARDMS (preferred) /t 6. Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by
ARDMS (preferred) /t 7. Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS
/t 8. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS /t 9. DMS by
MIRTP NMED Summary: This technologist will perform medical
ultrasound of the patient in accordance with a physician's order
and work within their scope of practice. The Ultrasound
Technologist must be able to handle the movement, set-up, and
operation of medical ultrasound equipment. The technologist must be
able to handle all patients according to the needs of that patient
and take direction from the Radiology Medical Director and
understand patient assessment and treatment procedures as outlined
by policy. The technologist provides patient assessment information
to the Radiologist as needed. The technologist is trained in Basic
Life Support and provides when asked to do so. Technologists are
responsible for appropriately documenting procedural information in
the patient's medical record, including PACS. Behavior and
communication skills must align with the organization's mission,
values, and culture. Responsibilities: /t 1. Meets expectations of
the applicable One Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others,
or Leader of Leaders. /t 2. Performs a variety of diagnostic
procedures, some of a more complex nature, utilizing
state-of-the-art computerized imaging equipment in more than one
(1) modality. /t 3. Requires flexibility to work competently within
assigned modalities as needed or assigned. /t 4. Interacts
appropriately with patients and all care providers by coordinating
and prioritizing procedures during the workday to maintain a high
level of patient care and continuity. /t 5. Possesses the ability
and willingness to rotate within departments and clinics for proper
coverage as needed or assigned. /t 6. Upon completion of
procedures, programs the computer to ensure completion of exam and
all scan data is correctly stored in PACS. /t 7. Ensures exam rooms
are neat, clean, and adequately stocked before exams are performed
and acts to ensure compliance with Infection Control standards. /t
8. Coordinates and prioritizes procedures during the workday to
maintain a high level of patient care and continuity. /t 9. Ensures
all charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system.
/t 10. Performs all duties in a manner that protects the
confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any
confidential information unless necessary in the performance of
assigned job duties. /t 11. Ability to communicate effectively,
both verbally and in writing. /t 12. Excellent customer service
skills required. /t 13. Adapts assigned patient assessment,
treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical,
psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other
developmental needs of each patient served. /t 14. Ensures
compliance with all policies, procedures and standards as outlined
by State and Federal agencies, the hospital and other regulatory
entities. /t 15. Demonstrates adherence to the Core values of
Health /t 16. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements:
Education/Skills /t 1. Graduate of an accredited school of
Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent
required Experience /t 1. 1 year of ultrasound scanning experience
preferred /t 2. Basic computer experience required Licenses,
Registrations, or Certifications /t 1. Prefers one of the
following: /t 2. Sonography (S) by ARRT /t 3. Vascular Sonography
(VS) by ARRT /t 4. Breast Sonography (BS) by ARRT /t 5. Abdomen
(AB) RDMS by ARDMS /t 6. Breast (BR) RDMS by ARDMS /t 7. Obstetrics
