Traffic Controller – Forecourt Operations plays a critical role in
ensuring the safe, efficient, and organized flow of vehicles and
pedestrians in front of the Wexner Medical Center – James and NT
Forecourt. This individual supports valet and shuttle operations,
provides clear directions to patients and visitors, and maintains
unobstructed access to designated medical center entrances. The
role requires consistent professionalism, awareness of
surroundings, and outstanding customer service. Job Details Lead
Traffic Controller - OSU Wexner Medical Center Starting pay
$22/hour Supervisory experience preferred Compensation: Towne Park
is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate
compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s
job-related skills, experience, education or training, and
location. The hourly base pay range for this position is $22 per
hour. Schedule: The potential work schedule for this position is
weekdays, weekends, all shifts. Benefits: Employees are eligible to
enroll in medical, dental, and vision insurance, accident
insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity
insurance, and telemedicine benefits. Employees are provided
company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance as well as
short-term and long-term disability. Employees are also able to
enroll in the company’s 401k retirement savings plan. Paid Time
Off: Employees accrue 0.0654 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a
maximum of 136 hours per calendar year. Employees receive 6 paid
holidays throughout the calendar year and employees accrue up to a
maximum of 4 paid floating holidays per calendar year. Eligibility
requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job

SUMMARY The Traffic Controller – Forecourt Operations plays a
critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and organized flow
of vehicles and pedestrians in front of the Wexner Medical Center –
James and NT Forecourt . This individual supports valet and shuttle
operations, provides clear directions to patients and visitors, and
maintains unobstructed access to designated medical center
entrances. The role requires consistent professionalism, awareness
of surroundings, and outstanding customer service. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

Statement(s) % of Time Directs all incoming vehicles to proper
drop-off, valet, or parking zones. Ensures the forecourt remains
clear of idling or unauthorized vehicles and communicates with
drivers in a friendly, respectful manner. 25 Provides verbal
directions, answers questions, and offers general assistance to
patients and guests. Maintains courteous and professional
communication at all times. 35 Supports valet team by acting as a
spotter for vehicles returning to or departing from entrances.
Communicates clearly with valet drivers and pedestrians to prevent
congestion and ensure safety. 15 Monitors pedestrian and vehicle
interactions to reduce risk and support hospital access. Ensures
access for ambulances, shuttles, patient transport vans, and VIP
arrivals is always available. 10 Observes and reports any safety
hazards, suspicious activity, or traffic issues to management or
security. Remains alert to changes in traffic patterns or high-risk
areas. Works collaboratively with shuttle, valet, and operations
teams to ensure seamless traffic flow. 15 The total amount of time
for all functions of the job 100% QUALIFICATIONS Education: High
school diploma or general education degree (GED) Required
Licensure, Certification, etc.: Must be at least 18 years of age
and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen ? A
valid driver’s license and clean driving record Work Experience:
One to three months related experience and/or training; OR
equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge:
Knowledge of traffic flow principles and basic safety practices o
Familiarity with medical campus layout is helpful Skills: Excellent
verbal communication and interpersonal skills o Strong situational
awareness and ability to remain calm under pressure o Ability to
stand outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods o
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow direction o
Professional demeanor and helpful attitude SCOPE Authority to Act:
• Duties are performed following established procedures with
routine supervision. Some decisions require good judgment within

to seasonal weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, wind,

the duration of shift May require use of high-visibility clothing
