The Role As a Lumen Procurement Manager, you will manage complex
vendor agreements and relationships across multiple commodities.
This includes d elivering against corporate initiatives related to
cost reduction, cost avoidance, supplier rationalization and
continually benchmarking purchasing and process practices to
effectively translate the analysis into action. Provide subject
matter expertise and be a trusted advisor in regards to vendor
management, sourcing, and procurement.
The Main Responsibilities
Contract Management, Reviewing and Editing
Negotiates / re-negotiate new and existing agreements or
statements of work, including RFIs and RFPs
Prepares RFx documents, communication plans, and contract
Actively partner with legal teams and business unit stakeholders
to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal
targets for pricing, service, and quality.
Continually identify and implement new opportunities for cost
savings, cost avoidance and proactively tracks these objectives
Implement and measures cost savings, reduction and avoidance
programs and strategies.
Continually refine these programs to deliver optimal results for
Responsible for vendor / supplier management.
Conduct supplier rationalization and segmentation
Proactively review supplier performance and adherence to
Lead business reviews and deliver resolution on difficult issues
through effective negotiation tactics.
Manages $100M in annual spend.
What We Look For in a Candidate Education
Bachelors Degree preferred with legal, finance, or business
concentration / major or minor
Ability to work with various levels of management within the
organization including executives.
Experience with RFP / RFx catalog preferred
Telecom or technology experience preferred
Cisco SAP Ariba experience preferred
Strong organizational and personal skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team player with ability to work well with peers
Process management and documentation skills
Possess 5+ years of relevant IT, sales, procurement or project
management experience or other relevant contract management /
negotiation experience, preferably in telecom or technology.
Strong contract reviewing and analyzing skills.
Experience with contract terms and conditions across multiple
Process management and documentation skills.
Strong organizational skills, ability to negotiate and manage
several contracts at once.
Possesses intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills.
