Affinity is currently looking for a Patient Account Specialist to work from 8:00AM 5:00PM, Monday through Friday at our Downtown Monroe location.

Job Summary: The Patient Account Specialist is the primary source of information for patients who call with questions about a bill. They answer questions, resolve problems, and assist patients with repayment terms. They are also responsible for contacting patients who are delinquent in payment by mail, email, and/or telephone.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepares, reviews, and sends patient statements

Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints

Processes patients credits by conveyance or refund

Review accounts for possible adjustments on patient balance

Answers questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies

Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

Marginal Duties:

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Greater than 6 months experience billing medical claims

Microsoft Office experience

Electronic Medical Records experience

Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices

Knowledge of medical office procedures

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public

Must be well organized and detail-oriented

Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment

High school graduation or GED

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Supervision Received:

Works under general supervision of the Business Office Manager and the Director of Operations

Working Conditions:

Overtime may be occasionally required
