Job Description:

The Clinical Dietitian is the medical nutrition expert responsible for independently planning, developing and directing all nutritional care activities for assigned clients, including those with complex medical and nutritional needs. [ "Duties include, but are not limited to: Conducts a comprehensive nutrition assessment for patients at nutritional risk. Orders labs, diets and consults per Scope of Practice/Clinical privileges. Calculates nutritional requirements (calories, protein, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, electrolytes, fluid) and necessary diet restrictions or food/drug interactions. Ensures diet prescribed is tailored to each individual client's according to physical and metabolic needs and designs the nutritional treatment plan with consideration for psychosocial, behavioral, ethnic and cultural factors to obtain desirable outcomes and promote long term adherence to a medical nutritional care plan. Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcome of medical nutrition therapy interventions. Assesses educational needs and provides nutrition counseling for individuals and groups, incorporating a learning approach that considers the cultural, religious, educational, and medical situation of the patient. Includes information regarding budgeting, menu planning, food purchasing and preparation, food storage and sanitation. Assists in developing and revising patient education materials, nutrition handbooks, manuals, pamphlets, modified diet instruction handouts, clinical forms, and protocols. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm\nFinancial Disclosure Report: Not required Physical Requirements: Light carrying (under 15 pounds); light lifting (under 15 pounds), use of fingers, walking (up to 1 hours), standing (up to 1 hour), ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, near vision correctable at 13\" to 16\" to Jaeger 1 to 4; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other, ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid permitted); and emotional/mental stability.\nEnvironmental Factors: Working closely with others, working alone, slippery or uneven walking surfaces, dust, constant noise, excessive noise (intermittent), working with hands in water" ]
